The wait is over and the champagne is out as the Haçienda in Manchester, greater Manchester is free to hold parties again as local magistrates unanimously agree to renew their entertaiments license.

January 30th - Manchester: The Haçienda

The Haçienda in Manchester, greater Manchester is in serious turmoil as the management calls time on the notorious venue for the foreseeable future. After a bout of unsavoury incidents involving local gangs vying for the lucrative drugs trade in and around the venue, the management team have to take matters into their own hands by voluntary shutting down the club.

During it's six-month probation period, the management at the club had re-introduced their membership scheme in a attempt to make their club a safer party environment for it's guests and to help keep out the undesirables.

However, the final straw for the management came when a clubber was refused entry to the club due to not having a membership card. Some time later, the clubber came back to the club brandishing a handgun and threatened the door staff with it, the club closed soon afterwards.
